(JW Insights) Mar 24 -- South Korea’s Ronda Semiconductor through its wholly-owned subsidiary will start a core precision part manufacturing project in Xi’an of northwestern China’s Shaanxi Province, announced a local official partner on March 22.

The subsidiary Ronda Materials (Xi’an) will launch a new plant to manufacture silicon electrodes for advanced semiconductor core precision etching, insulating and heat-conducting parts, RF transmitter parts, and sealing rings. The construction will be divided into two phases, with a total investment of at least RMB300 million($43.8 million).

The Ronda subsidiary signed with Xi’an High-tech Zone, the local partner for the project at a ceremony on March 22. The first phase will focus on the R&D center, production, and testing lines of semiconductor silicon consumables, which will be completed and put into production in October this year; The second phase will build a semiconductor silicon product R&D and production base, which is expected to be put into production in 2025.

Ronda Semiconductor’s business involves semiconductor equipment, consumable spare parts, core components, and other fields. It has R&D centers and production bases in the United States, Singapore, and Chengdu in southwestern China’s Sichuan Province.
