Chinese EV brand Seres and technology giant Huawei deepen cooperation to produce and sell 1 million NEVs in 2026

(JW Insights) Feb 27 -- Chinese EV brand Seres and tech giant Huawei signed an agreement in Shenzhen and set a goal to produce and sell one million new energy vehicles in 2026, the Beijing News reported on February 26.

According to the agreement, Seres will coordinate industry resources and promote the application of new technologies, materials, and processes for various models working with Huawei.

Huawei will give full play to its technological advantages in intelligence, digitalization, and user experience design involving high-end intelligent driving and Harmony OS cockpit.

In addition, Seres and Huawei agreed to establish a joint innovation center.

Previously, there were rumors that Huawei's R&D personnel had withdrawn from Seres. Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's smart car solution BU, responded that Huawei's investment in Seres has increased instead of decreasing.

“Under Huawei Smart Selection, the one who benefits the most must be Seres, which has the earliest cooperation with Huawei, the deepest accumulation, and the most abundant product models,” Yu added.
